Silver Chaos: I can't load any saves

Hello. This is kind of embarrassing but I can't figure out what to do.

I downloaded the Game, the Glitch Patch, and the English Patch. I installed all successfully, the game works fine and I know you right click to save and all that. But the problem is any time I try to load any of my save files the screen turns grey and this error comes up:

I've seen information on workarounds if you get this error after the opening, or just as you open the game but it seems like no one else has had this problem when loading saves (or at least I haven't found any threads about it). I tried the tips people gave for fixing this problem when it comes up elsewhere but nothing has worked so far.

I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
