[SOLVED] Omerta - Weird problem installing and running on Windows 8.
Hey Guys. I have googled, gone through so many posts and I haven't seen some of the issues I have posted.
So in short.. I have tried everything that I have read.. I'm sure I forgot things to add in this description
-Locale & Region set to Japan, Installed with Daemon Tools.
-I've downloaded and installed different Omerta downloads to see if that was the issue as well
-Tried various compatibility modes & running as admin
-Joined with HJsplit
-uninstalled and re-installed this game 50 times or more.
I'm ready to pull my hair out!! Please save me from going bald!
On to the problems!!
Errors I and weird problems when installing/running on Windows 8.
Ok here are the weird issues:
(not sure why post is putting a space inbetween 'noir' when I type KarinChatnoirOmega -but there is no space when it created that folder - so ignore that)
-If I try to install it as 'windows user' it installs it into a weird place :
C:\Users\Amanda\AppData\Local\Programs\KarinChatno irOMEGA\omerta
-If I run the install as Admin and choose 'Windows User' it also installs to:
C:\Users\Amanda\AppData\Local\Programs\KarinChatno irOMEGA\omerta
-If I run install as Admin & choose 'Admin' instead of 'windows user' it does install to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\KarinChatnoirOMEGA\omerta
~~Next weird issue~~
When I run the patch, it puts the "AlphaDiscLog.txt" into my C:\ (which of course gives me that [1503] AlphaDiscLog.txt error)
-No SETTEC folder is ever created in
C:\Users\Amanda\Documents\
-In order to NOT get that AlphaDiscLog.txt error when patching, I had to create that folder myself:
-C:\Users\Amanda\Documents\SETTEC\
I'll put up a link to my album so people can see what I'm talking about.

After installing the game, and with the iso still mounted, copy AlphaROM Signup Tool to the install folder of the game.
Run AlphaROM Signup Tool (I kept the window for AlphaROM open until I completed step 3).
Locate the newly created .sig file (C:\ProgramData\ASign) and rename it to alsign.sig (If the .sig file was not created you may have to run the game once to create the file: AlphaDiscLog.txt; located in C:\Users\*Current_User*\Documents\SETTEC\)
Run AlphaROM Signup Tool one more time to create another .sig file.
Cut and paste alsign.sig to install folder of the game.
Unmount the iso file.
Run the game.
