problem with lagging/freezing parts of video [solved]

I have this problem where some anime episodes I have on my computer sometimes freeze on certain parts when played. It usually happens a lot of .mkv file types, but it also happens with other file types as well, just not as much. What happens is it'll play normally for a few minutes, and then it will freeze for a couple of seconds, and then it will continue. For some reason, this messes the flow of the subs up. The subs might show up faster/slower than when the characters starts talking... the subs start to go out of synch with what the characters are saying. I usually use Media Player Classic for playing videos. But i notice it happens in other players as well. (winamp, core media player, VLC, FF Player).

This problem gets on my nerves, because I just can't seem to enjoy the anime when it happens.

Would anyone happen to know what the problem may be and how I can fix it? I'd really appreciate any kind of help. Thank you! =)

    I think it's the codecs.
    What works for me:
Go to www.free-codecs.net and download the K-Lite Mega Codecs pack, install the codecs and you should be able to watch them all - avi, mkv etc.

Thank you! So far, everything seems to work alright. I pretty much had to uninstall all of my players and codecs, and then downloaded K-Lite Codecs, and when I played some anime episodes, it seems to be working. ^^
