.mkv videos

i recently downloaded some .mkv videos from bakaupdates using torrents. i cant open those files? i used VLC to open and it plays but there's no sound and picture. and i tried downloading those files from host links, same mkv too. i cant open them.

The VLC-Player isn't working with the newest .mkv-files anymore.
I have had the same problem when I wanted to watch Nabari no Ou.
A friend told my to download the Zoom Player and with this player my .mkv-files worked ^^

But it only worked on my computer, since my sister's is older and I coudn't play the files with any player, not the vlc and not the zoom player.

can the zoom player be used to play any files too?

.avi-files are fine, but I never tried to play real media files or .ogm-files, since I do not have so much files of this types.

If you have Real Alternative, Quick Time Alternative, or any other codecs installed, Zoom should pick up on them, and be able to play the files. I personally use Media Player Classic, but I like Zoom too. ^^

is mpg possible with zoom? if yes then i'll ditch VLC and use zoom. my majority are in avi, and mpg.

Try SMPlayer, it worked better for me than VLC media player.

Well I didn't experience any video skipping that is.

Try downloading the Video codecs, my VLC player can open up any video format.

I was bored so i found the codecs for you:

MKV Codec

OGM Codecs

Real Media (.rm) Codec

Yes i know they're all from the same site <3

After installing these codecs VLC should work fine for all your Yaoi veiwing pleasure.

I havn't tested these codecs with WindowsMediaPlayer becuase to be quite fair I hate it and I'd uninstall the damn thing if I could.
