Question what player will play .ogm and .mkv(?) files?

Sorry if this isn't in the right area but it was called "Everything else" so I took a gamble. Anyway, can someone tell me what player will play .ogm and .mkv(?) files? I know my WMP (Windows Media Player) can't do the .mkv(?) files.

As for the WMP, it is an older version (perfectly functional, plays .avi without a problem). Would upgrading it make it compatible with those other two file types? Or am I looking for a completely new player?

    Thanks bunches.

    Or grab cccp (http://cccp-project.net)

I used to like VLC too, but it sometimes messes up the font of soft subs making it harder to read (and just doesn't do justice to the subbers' hard work). CCCP is a codec pack that is especially put together just for anime fansubs so it works better~ I use media player classic to play everything now~

In case you wanna try using the VLC-player, you can either google for it or just go here:

@ doiz: Thanks for that codec-link! You're sooo right. VLC does have its.....difficulties sometimes. (BTW, does cccp work with the VLC, too?)

I use Media Player Classic, it plays everything except .rmbv files (Real Media Player).
