Akaya Akashiya Ayakashino execution error

Hello everyone. I used the mega link for akaaka here [http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f145/t...akashino.html]. I switched over to the Japanese locale and also downloaded the Japanese language pack. The start menu, intro, and opening worked fine; after the opening, the game popped up this handy exception-thrown message. The screen cut to black, but the game continued to run with audio - not that it was possible to interact with the game any further thanks to the error message. Any fix ideas?


OS: Windows 10 x64
The post said only running the .exe was required; no .iso in extraction.

Try to run as Administrator. If it does not fix the problem then can you give a screenshot of the game folder itself?

As you could tell from the rough translation for that error, that message says that there was a problem in the scriptfile "set_bg.ks". It couldn't find something, and gave that error. Sounds like there may be some files missing or out of sorts?

I agree with monokuroe, could we see a screenshot of the folder where you put AAA? ^^ Sounds like there may have been a corrupt file somewhere, or a file isn't allowed to be opened properly.

Yes, of course. Admin didn't work, but I wasn't really expecting it to. Like you said, it certainly seems like a problem in that script.

I wonder if there was an issue with the original files, and the DATA.XP3 might be corrupt/missing some scripts.

Delete the folder "savedata". That's it. ^_^

It'll play now, guaranteed. I just tested it and made sure. Enjoy!

If you don't mind me asking, why did deleting the savedata folder fix the issue? Were those other configuration files messing something up?

From what I could tell, the savedata that came with the game wasn't "initialized" properly. When the game starts, it creates a database of all the CG's and choice flags, and whether or not you've seen them or not.

The database that came with the game had some blank entries, thus causing that error.

You're very welcome. ^_^ Enjoy! I hope that English patch for it comes out very soon... Last update was April 2016, but it's officially sanctioned, so I'm excited. Beautiful artwork for the game.

Hi! Can you please send me link to download the game? I downloaded one version of it from a different website and from a different post on this website but when I went to open the file, it kept telling me that there was an error and that I can't open it. Thank you so much!
