DMMD start up issue (urgent I think)

So, I have tried to run the game and every time I start it up VIA the crack, a black screen comes up then the window closes.

I already set my laptop to Japanese standard
installed with the steps provided by the youtube installation video
set up the update
copy and pasted the crack, and then tried starting up the game.

I have attempted this about 4 times, I'm not sure how to proceed from here, please help in anyway possible.

Could you please give me a list of the files in your DMMd folder or a screen shot?

EDIT: Try to launch SdActi.exe and close it just after it opens before starting the game.

here is what is in my folder, and I tired running sdActi and closing it immediately, but it still does not work.

Okay your Files are probably fine.

Could you please tell me if the title of the window looks like this ( Just focus on the text )

If it looks like the latter you haven't setup your Japanese Locale correctly. How to setup the japanese Locale
If that isn't case try launching the game in Compatibility Mode if you are using Vista or higher.

Running DMMd in Windows 8.1 is a bit fickle... Especially if it was installed in the default location.

There are a few suggestions I can think of off the top of my head.

#1, If this is your first time installing a Nitro+CHiRAL Visual Novel, you might need to actually install the SdActi secure program (sdrt4280j.exe, by the by) This is normally a step in the setup/install process, but can be run post-install as well.

#2, Uninstall DMMd and then re-install in a different location. A good place to put Visual Novels is in a separate folder like C:\Games\(Stuff). This helps make patching games easier, and Windows won't be a control freak and prevent things from working properly. Windows tends to be quite the dictator when games run when they were installed into a default location in the Program Files folder. Also, this option might also benefit you, if you installed DMMd without the System Locale being set to "Japanese", no amount of enabling this after-the-fact will help. You honestly need to install the game with the System Locale set to "Japanese" beforehand.

#3, I've heard AppLocale, a Windows 8 addon, can be your friend in some instances. ( Download Microsoft AppLocale Utility from Official Microsoft Download Center )

Ok so I un-installed

installed sdrt4280j.exe
re-installed dmmd (in a different location)
laptop is already set in Japanese
copied the patch files over
copied the crack over
tried running the crack, black window came up and vanished quickly
clicked on the SdActi.exe and closed it immediately
tried running the crack again, and nothing changed....
Im not sure where to go from here

Find the Crack program, and right-click on it to select "Properties" from the bottom of the menu. A new window will popup, so click on the "Compatibility" tab, and find the checkbox that says, "Run in Compatibility Mode for..." And select "Windows XP (SP3)".

While that window is open, select the "Run as Administrator" checkbox at the bottom of the window, then hit "Apply" and then "OK" to close the window. Try again.

If that -still- doesn't work, I know there was a Service Pack of Windows 8 that actually stopped games from working, PERIOD. Even games on Steam stopped working. I'm not sure if you have the utmost latest service pack or not, so perhaps try a Windows Update?

I updated my windows to 8.1 when I got this laptop, yes I am running on a laptop, it's supposed to be geared towards gaming.

I did the compatibility and it's still the same.. even with running it as administrator.
