Shota and yuri hate threads not allowed

Dear all, since the discussion of both shota and yuri always sparked hatred and flame wars in threads, we no longer allow the creation of hate threads for shota and yuri.

Therefore, effective from now... our rules (TOS) has added:
Shota and yuri hate threads are NOT allowed.
(such threads will be closed)

It is fine to say a few lines that you dislike them, but not to the extent of creating a thread for it, or force your opinion on others, or trying to change other's mind about it by flaming. Since we have age limit in this forum, we are all adults and do not really need to be told what we should or shouldn't like.

Shota is part of BL/yaoi genre, and we do fansub it, but we do not support the actual act of it, and always remind everyone that it should only be viewed as an artistic form of entertainment. A summarized quote from Miko:
This site doesn't support actual pedophilia and people are responsible for consequences of their own interests.

Yuri is the opposite of yaoi but its underline is actually the same as yaoi, where the same gender are involved in relationships.

SUMMARY: If you really must let others know what you don't like about shota and yuri, it's still fine... I will allow you to tell the world. But bear in mind, I will not allow anyone to scold or talk rudely about shota/yuri fans, or create hate threads for them. That is all~ Thanks for reading :)

I also wanna add that shota/yuri opinion threads are fine, as long as what I stated above is not present.

EDIT: I also must say that not having shota in this forum is impossible... cuz let's face it, it is actually part of BL/yaoi genre. Like I said in other threads, I do not like shota too but I will not ban or condemn anyone because they like it. Same goes for yuri. Simplest thing to do: Ignore or stay away Shota or Yuri threads.

I have been concerned about several hate threads which have been created as you have stated and they really did serve no purpose other than for argument.

Thank you Aarin. I'm not a fan of shota, and I do like yuri, but I'm tired of all the arguments. It was getting pretty repetitive.

Hopefully this will stamp out the confrontations. ^_^

Well, it's hard to draw the line between heated discussions and hate-threads, but if this can prevent extreme hostility between members then it's a good decision, I suppose. :sigh:

I knew there was some dislike for Yuri but I'm as surprised as Curious above me that people are hating on it to such a degree. I don't like Yuri all that much, and feel a little if-ish around shota. I know I don't like the ones involving a child and an adult, but I tolerate it and choose to not read what I don't like. It doesn't seem right to hate on people who do, because it's their choice. As Aarin pointed out the BL/yaoi we love has it in it. Some of my favorite anime series have establish pairings that I didn't know about... A lot of it does, when you really think about it.

Was getting really tired of seeing random little arguements about shota popping up around the site. One in particular that was closed a while ago is still being mentioned in a few topics and it was getting kind of frustrating seeing it everywhere:sigh: But, hopefully people will stop with the hate threads and personal jabs at the people that do still contribute shota to everyone here. I think to ban shota-hate threads is a good idea. It's such a sensitive topic. I can't bring myself to be really tolerant towards shota myself. Best is to stop the flaming, before it begins xD

I do not even like shota that much :XD: but I like some of it, and I also really like other things that might make some people unconfortable (like rape yaoi and guro), so I know how it feels when someone thinks you're a psycho just because you have unusual fantasies or just happen to like unusual stuff.:rolleyes:

And even if somebody has these kind of tendencies, I think it's still better for them to read fictional manga rather than illegal real life stuff which also damages other persons, or even worse to act out on those tendencies.

As long as it's fictional, it doesn't really hurt anybody, so why such an hatred?

As for the yuri hatred, I find it ridicolous, and rather hypocritical: it's just like those guys who jerk off from lesbian porn and then discriminate homosexual men.:rolleyes:

I'm glad the staff now officially don't support the hate threads. I think everyone has their own taste, and we should learn to tolerate other's taste even if it's not the same as ours.

I'm truly glad such rule is created. Since I'm not a fan of shota, I am a fan of yuri. I have participated in discussions about yuri only for it to revert to ignorant, immature, and derogatory commentary from those who have a strong disdain towards yuri or from those who are not truly familiar with yuri.

I have already stated numerous times about my opinions about shota so I will not repeat myself in this thread. I simply hope that this rule will eliminate the derision towards shota and yuri in this forum. Thank you very much!

I never really noticed this kind of hatred on this forum and never would have expected it from the usually quite open minded and tolerant Aarin communtity. Still I'm happy I won't have to fear any hate attacks. :D

Yuri hate? I'm surprised. I never saw a single thread.
I completely understand shota hate, I understand people's feelings, specially those who have small children.
I understand this kind of decision - to make moderation more easy - and I also understand that the day that shota will be banned is coming, so I will understand also when this decision radically change. :)

I don't think anyone actually condones pedophilia in real life.

But I am a fan of shota, and I read and love the occasional yuri. I haven't really seen any yuri hate threads yet, but I have seen some flames regarding shota. So I fully support this rule. <3

It's all fiction, and different people like different things.

Aarinfantasy has already stated the site's official position on this subject, so let me just reiterate for those who still don't seem to understand:

The rule that has been put into place does not exist to reflect the legality or unlawfulness or the morality or immorality of anyone's preference in media or literature.

Its purpose is to assert every individual's entitlement to determine and adhere to their own choices--whatever they may be--without being tread upon by others who think they know better.

This site doesn't support actual pedophilia. People are responsible for for consequences of their own interests. Each and every person here should already be well aware that he/she is individually responsible for knowing the boundaries of what's legal or not where he/she lives.

If what has been decided is still not understood, please send a message to a member of staff and we will clarify anything you don't understand.

I'm closing this topic, since it seems to give the impression that this subject is still up for discussion. It is not.
