Sorry Ishtar - I meant to answer your question as well:
That should be ok since people make threads about cons and meetups all the time. This would be a similar event, yes?

Still a bit confused ^^;...
...2 scenarios:
1. Someone requests for something in one of the request sections/threads looking for a anime/live action/manga/music download...is it permissible to direct them elsewhere should that particular person be unable to fulfill the request him/herself?
2. Someone makes a new post or start a thread in one of the hosted links section (anime/live action/music/manga) referring people elsewhere to download while not providing any links in the post/thread themselves.
i.e. [Post] Here is where you can download "blah blah blah" -> link to website." [/Post] <- That is "Advertising"?
Just makin' sure =^^=

1. ****BIG EDIT: Yes, a user can post an external link in response to a download request.
2. Not allowed. That's exactly inappropriate advertising. (Creating a thread/post for the express purpose of directing traffic to another site.)
I hope that clears up the confusion. If not, please let me know.

The GoComi poll link I TRIED to give people access to was not advertising. I was merely trying to SHOW people here where they could help have more YAOI content. I am not afiliated with ANYONE nor have I ever been.
I would have put in in the poll section but that wasn't the right place for it and I'm not about to put it somewhere else, what else am I supposed to do when I find a HELPFUL link?
It's gotten to the point where I hate typing ANYTHING in here as it seems there is always something wrong with it, hence the low # of posts and activity.
Is this what you get when trying to speard the word to help expand a genre?
Oh and you could leave me the option to delete my posted thread instead of making me look like a dummy by closing it and having it stay there forever.
If this sounds angry at all it's because this is the last annoyance in an overall very bad day and I've just had it so I should just go to bed and end this day for once and for all.
Was it a thread/post created to direct traffic (ie:linking) to another WEBSITE (Whatever the content may be)?
If the answer to this question is "yes" -then it IS advertising, which is not allowed.
As is stated in this first post of this thread, you may put the link in your sig. Nothing else.
-Thanks for understanding.

Like, to say: You can get said download here: _____
and gives the site homepage address? Yes that's fine - as some sites do consider it quite rude for people to direct link people to their download links instead of to the homepage...
Can we use the new header of the Dark Fantasy theme as a siggie to promote aarinfantasy.com?
I really like the new layout.
I have a question ^^;
Currently I run a fanfic-contest and posted all the rules and stuff in an entry in my livejournal.
Aarinpoints are also included as prizes - am I allowed to open a thread here and post the main rules and link my lj-entry at the end for more informations?
