Note from Wasabi2001: Characterized by low levels of both enthusiasm and eagerness for activity, basically it has to be a portrait of the feeling (apart from the character's expression, the colors and the mood needs to induce a sense of the feeling as well).

I voted #5 but i like #3, #6 and #8 as well...

I voted for #5, they are all nice but I feel #5 conveyed the theme the best.

Such a hard decision! 5, 6, and 8 all make me feel melancholy... but the image selected and especially the use of color in #8 had the most emotional impact for me.

#6 was a very close second, for the opposite reason, its quiet color setting off Kenshin's expressive face.

I love this contest... and hope to see more auctions from the makers!

I love #5 and #6. The color and emotion are lovely.
I vote #6 because of Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin anime). Not that reason because of anime but there is lovely expression/emotion of sorrow.

i don't know, i just can really feel the melancholy in #6

Set #4 because thematically it conveys melancholy without making it contrite. next it is technically superior as a piece.

4, 6, 8.....4, 6, 8... those three caught my eye for different reasons from quotes to textures, but the uncomplicated melancholic feel of 6 pulled at me the most. Simple sorrow without all the noise.
