Vote poll; peaking = null

Well, I was wondering if it's alright to have polls being invalid if the person peaks through the poll results without voting first.

I'm talking 'bout in general for all polls put up.
But then again, this may be hassle, huh.

It would make things fairer as I'm sure some people check the poll results first and then vote for whatever is most popular.

Or like when it's a contest, and I don't have a preference, I may vote for the person with the least amount of votes.

You know - this is another example of wanting the staff to take responsibly for people's choices.

Personally, I use the preview poll results function more often than I even vote in them. I don't have to be inclined to vote in a poll to be mildly curious about what the general consensus is.

Everyone here is an adult or at the very least--old enough to be able to make simple judgement calls without being forced to stay on some "straight and narrow path."

It's one thing to enforce the site's terms of service and prevent various abuses but this is something else entirely. There is no need to micro-manage people's fun - remember that's what this community is supposed to be about, in large part.

Just like Miko, I am usually just curious about the results, but feel no need to actually vote on the poll. This is a forum for "adults". Therefore, we can safely assume members would act that way.

That's what I was thinking. I've voted many times in polls before... and all this time I had no idea you could look at the results before voting.
