Aarin-tan; possible site mascot?

I really apreciate that so many of you are considering the idea. In reality, it would probally be much more troubel then it would be worth, but having a bunch of the peopel in such a large comunity actually colaborate on something, even if it only be a symbol, feels like it would be such a beatiful thing.

Oh deary! I did forget about the implications of a little boy. And don't even like shota. A dude in is early tweneties probally would be the better move; being a pool of gay porn makes this play NSFW already. Though, I guess if he were an adult, the tan suffix would feel out of place, which brings in the possibility of naming the dude. Though, as an adult, the proper pronuctiation of the suffix (tan is mis pronunciaton of chan) might make sense.

On another note to waht some of you were mentioning, I can't really find a Heise in the member list that actually has post. I would very much apreciate it if I someone would link me to them.

as GenericWit said, if we get some cutie mascot it could encourage the wrong type to come to the site. Plus, the hotties from Heise are good enough for me

FYI: When I read the first post... I didn't automatically assume that a site mascot would have to be something childish like a SHOTA, chibi or even child character. I was actually expecting an adult sort of character... and like most people, something along the lines of Heise's work is what first came to mind.

The idea is interesting... but to come out with a good mascot will be hard >_< It will be hard to come up with something that everyone agrees up.... Maybe some sort of competition or vote?

Mascot gives me the idea of having chibi bishie in an animal costume though. I'm very interested in this whole mascot-Aarin-tan (it sounds so cute!) thing, but then again, I have might have to agree with what GenericWit suggests. It might really attract underaged members than necessary (who can resists cute sites + forums?!) + they might thought it's an anime forum instead (for those who didn't know of Yaoi's existence).

If it's an adult sort of character as the mascot, then I think I'll probably go for this Aarin-tan thing, if there's a voting going on =DDDD

It sounds like an interesting idea - I agree that it shouldn't be a cute "little" boy as the shota vibes are heavy there - and a mid-twenties mascot might work well. It depends on the design though and how well it suits the forum.

A poll or something would be nice.

And while I'm here, I'll throw this out there. If there were to be a mascot, it'd be nice if his/its clothes/appearance changed slightly to match with certain layouts. Or is that too much? *shrug*

Or ... not so chibi? Not like Shuichi from Gravi because he is drawn in quite shota style really *sigh* But like ... someone older, like Hiroki from JR. Obviously not the actual character but I mean like, an older bishie all grumpy because we've dressed him up in a cute animal costume
