This has been bothering me for a while, and I can't seem to find a solution that works for me. The links in my sig currently look like this:
-My Fics--My Blog-
because I can't seem to find a way to keep a space between them without using characters. How do I insert a non-breaking space so they just look like this:
My Fics My Blog
UPDATE: Even there I had 2 spaces between them, but the forum brought it down to one... O_O
I am unfamiliar with BB code, but I did try [_][/_] and [nbsp]
You should be able to link them without the need for characters :huh:
so
[URL ="http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/fiction/browsecategory.php?do=member&entryuserid=67211"]My Fics[/URL] [URL ="http://lamplighter-miki.blogspot.com/"]My Blog[/URL]
(backspace from = to the L when putting it in your sig space)
So it'll look like:
My Fics My Blog
It's not a linking problem. Just that if I don't put anything between them, they look like this:
My FicsMy Blog
That's because you've misplaced a space between BB code tags. Check to have something like this:
[_URL="LINK"_]My fic[_/URL_] [_URL="Link"_]My Blog[_/URL_]
The important thing is to leave a space between the strings ---> ...Fic[_/URL_]space[_URL="Blog"_]...
OR eventually [URL=LINK]My ficspace[_/URL]... though this will extend the link till the space.
If this doesn't work post the BB code of your signature and I'll give it a check ;-)
It's not anything that you are doing that's causing your links to appear that way. There is such a thing as bbcode for the nbsp function but it has not been coded implemented on this site.
Even if you put a space between links or images, they won't be processed. That's why images and links look messed up like that when placed horizontally.
That leaves you with several alternatives for a workaround, including the following:
1. Use a certain character -- as mentioned above, as a separator. I usually do this, since it's the most effortless. I typically use the vertical line character instead of dashes or asterisks.
[URL="http://aarinfantasy.com/exampleonly.html"]Hyperlink#1[/URL] | [URL="http://aarinfantasy.com/exampleonly.html"]Hyperlink#2[/URL]
Which, of course would then parse as:
Hyperlink#1 | Hyperlink#2
2. Use a transparent .gif or .png as a separator. Pretty bothersome, since you'd have to make+upload the image but if you're persnickety, it'll get you the appearance you want.
(Pretty straightforward, no example needed, right?)
3. The third option is to create a table, using the [table]value[/table] bbcode.
[table][URL="http://aarinfantasy.com/exampleonly.html"]Hyperlink#1[/URL]|[URL="http://aarinfantasy.com/exampleonly.html"]Hyperlink#2[/URL]|[URL="http://aarinfantasy.com/exampleonly.html"]Hyperlink#3[/URL][/table]
Would then parse as:
