This more than one suggestion, let's make more events ^^
I have more than one suggestion, is it okay to make it on one thread? So we can choose which one is the good one ^^.

Quiz Event
This is the explanation:
1. Every member must register for participating the event, then they will be split into 2-4 group (regarding how much the participants) and lead by one moderator or forum support.
2. The event period is one hour or more with 10 questions or more related to Yaoi.
3. Each team will be gathered in one private thread made exclusively just for this event.
4. Admin will post question in all team thread in the same time. Will be given 5-10 minutes to answer the question by replying in the specific team thread by each member of team including the moderator.
5. About the answer; example: each team + moderator have 8 member, when answering, 5 member post the same answer, and this is will become the team answer. A bit difficult to explain it, but I hope you understand ^^.
6. The winner is a team who has many correct answer than other team. And if there lead a 'tie' score, the teams will have extra round with 5 more questions.
7. The prize will be given to each team member.
8. The winner will be announced in official event thread after each team moderator report their team (how many correct question they answer) to the event lead/admin.


Review Event
This is the explanation:
1. One week or a month period of event.
2. The admin will list the game; anime; drama cd or manga which will be the topic of event.
3. The criteria of winner will be open discussed in official event thread.
4. The judge is admin or mod or user who have experience in reviews.
5. The winner will be announced in official event thread.


Points Catch Event
This is the explanation:
1. The participant will have 'Event Points' list under their avatar; after 'point' and 'saving' list in the period of event.
2. The point will be given randomly each time participants posting in thread (or specific thread) at the period of event.
3. There will be a rule how many participants can post per day in the event period (will be discussed in official thread if implemented).
4. So, basically this a 'Luck Contest'.
5. The winner is a user who gain the most points.
6. The winner will be announced in official event thread.


Mascot Designer Event
This is the explanation:
1. Prefer to be each year event (yes it will be nice to have different mascot every year, we can list them in hall of fame; just like list of headmaster school photos from time to time ^^)
2. It will be given 2 weeks for participants making mascot.
3. Mascot can be original or a character from any BL series (game, manga, anime, etc.).
4. The judge is admin or by the vote of other members.
5. The winner will be announced in official event thread
6. Mascot will appear in bottom right everytime you visit any page in forum or simply in top banner of forum side by side with 'Aarinfantasy' text.
7. The current winner mascot will be appear for one year until the next event.


Layout Theme Event
This is the explanation:
1. Prefer to be every year event to make many gorgeous theme for our forum.
2. There will be a theme for each event, example cherry blossom, so you can make layout theme with anything related to cherry blossom.
3. The judge is admin or by the vote of other members.
4. The winner will be announced in official event thread.
5. The winner theme will be implemented to forum.


AMV Event
This is the explanation:
1. One month period of event.
2. Yaoi related.
3. Using official opening/ending, cut scene and PV (promotional Video).
4. There will be a theme for each event. Example: summer, using spirited background music, etc.
5. The judge is admin or by the vote of other members.
6. The winner will be announced in official event thread.


About the Prizes
1. Points
2. Card Submission for free
3. Any material submitted for events will be showing in Exhibition Hall Section in official exhibition each event thread: Review, Mascot, AMV, and Layout Themes (for the winner and participants), except for Quiz and Points Catch event, maybe we should list the winner user?
4. Other prizes? Any suggestion? hehehe


That's all!! Sorry for long post, my head full with overflowing ideas ^^
I hope this will help our forum and make it more fun!
I will be happy if one of them can be implemented. If not, I will explore more ideas hehe

some of these we have done before or can't do.

Layout contest: we have been having enough problems with the layouts that this will not work out well. So far only one of the staff can fix the layouts until he shows me how to. We have done things like Avatar contests and Forum Banners contests before and likely will again once more of the staff are shown how to add them to the forum or have the time.

Mascot Contest: It was discussed before but didn't get far. I can't remember if there wasn't enough interested or something. We have done a logo contest though and that was implemented on items that were sold at a convention and such.

AMV Contests: There isn't enough interest on this forum for that. Members have tried to run AMV contests in the Contests area with little success.

Quiz Event: The staff have run those before. I believe cabbit_girl has done some, as well as aarinfantasy herself. This is one of those "if they have time" contests. They are just run differently than your suggestion, to make them simpler.

Review Event: We already have something like that call Review of the Month. We don't tend to get that many reviews for it so I think that will stay as it is. Winners still get points and can submit a card to the ishop.

Points Catch: Not sure about this. It would depend on which staff member(s) would have time to moderate this. Most of us are pretty busy already. This idea would need to be discussed among the staff to see who could run it.

Thank you for all the explanation! I see, every mod team seem to busy and user lack of interest for some event. Unlucky me cannot join the past event, because I'm only joining not long ago, sob. sob... I hope there's still a chance to make fun event when everyone not busy and I will voluntering myself to help^^

Hello there~ Thank you so much for taking your time to think and explain so many activities. However, like Twinstar said, we already had such events before. We will try our best to host more activities or contests whenever possible. Unfortunately, social media are the preferred sites for daily dose of online activities... that is also one main reason why the forum lack much activity. Of course, me and AarinFantasy staff members (this forum and media team) are not giving up just because lack of visitors or activities. There are times we will put up something different or special for members too :)

Really appreciate it a lot and really thank you and some others who suggested ideas on forum improvement/fun! We love to hear them but hope you all won't be entirely disappointed if it's not implemented.

It's okay, I'm glad to write many ideas and already happy if anyone spend their time to read it ^^
