View Full Version : Fiction area entry problem

Duplicated story entry; not intentional; random appearance; don't know how to get rid of it
I've recently posted a story in the Fiction area of the forum. I had only posted it once. However, for some reason, there's a duplicate. It didn't happen with my other entries, only one.

The story title is "Marked By Honor." (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/fiction/showentry.php?e=108712)

What I see when I look at my entries: http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/fiction/browsecategory.php?do=member&entryuserid=473782

I'm not sure what happened, but it just popped up like that. I didn't create two entries, but it looks like I did. This also appears in the normal directory when you browse the complete list of stories on the forum.

Can someone please delete the duplicate? Thank you very much!

Looking at your entries I see it just once.
It happens that you "see" duplicates sometimes when you set in your favorites a story (it happened to me already) or when they are on your subscription.

What you can do is check the link to the 2 entries you have and validate if they have the same ID or not (the number at the end of the address path).
I think it is just a display issue and not a duplicate. But if you have 2 different numbers on the address path for the same story, it is then a duplicate.

If we're talking about the URL, then I do believe I see the same number at the end. I guess that means it's just a display issue... Weird. Well, thank you. I'll just ignore the not-so-duplicate from now on.

I'm not seeing the duplicate either. I've cleared the entry cache and updated the stats counters. Clear your browser's cache and see if the duplicate post is still showing up...

I have just cleared my cache and opened the page. This is what I see: http://i42.tinypic.com/33opu9f.jpg

... that's aggravating, I bet. The only thing I have left to suggest is remove it from your favorites reload the page to see if it's still duplicated before adding it back to your faves. Hopefully the duplicated display won't be triggered a next time. Honesty though, I don't know for sure that doing so would fix it... been known to happen--not with this software though. I don't suppose it would hurt to try.

I'm sorry. I removed it from my favorites and reloaded the page as you suggested, but it's still there. I guess I'll just have to ignore it since I'm the only one seeing it. As long as no one else sees it, I guess it's not that big of a problem. Just weird. Thank you for all your suggestions, though. :)
