Unbelievable... this is quite one of my favs. Yaya's characters are never the typical ones. Ao is a boy with a really sweet face and a recently-discovered (and what a way to discover it) one-sided love for a young priest, (yes, a priest), who's been his friend for several years now; but don't let yourselves be fooled by Ao's face! O-O That boy has NO shame and he's extremely determined, appart from being blunt and having no second thoughts about nothing, he's gonna try everything in his power to make Ryoume-san notice him as something more than the local kid he met who knows how many year ago!

One of the things I have always loved about Sakuragi Yaya is her humor. She plays against the yaoi conventions, and even if there is a clearly defined "seme" and "uke" role, they often break the mold.
Yume Musubi is no exception. The main character, Ao, has suddenly realized how very much in love he is with the local shrine's young priest. Ao isn't one to stand around and mope about his one-sided love: he just goes into it head on, confessing his love bluntly and trying to get any form of agreement in return. Ao constantly flusters his love interest and his friends with his straight-to-the-point attitude -- especially since he himself doesn't seem to realize how blunt he's being.
Fans of Sakuragi Yaya's "Koi Cha no Osahou" (BLU title: "Tea for Two") might also recognize Ao's best friend, Shunpei: he was one of the kids Madoka taught Karate to. :) And he's grown up very well, it seems.
