Fujimoto Hiroya is at the top of his class. He's the Student Council Vice President, spends all his time studying and is the idol of all the "good girls". Please note that this title deals very frankly with some rather "heavy" issues including, but not limited to homophobia, gay bashing, coming out, HIV/AIDS, promiscuous sex, rape, and suicide. It's not exactly "light" reading. Might want to bring some tissues...

While I wasn't a huge fan of the art style, it IS over a decade old. This was a relationship dealt with in a realistic way, characters that seemed HUMAN (unlike some series), and a story that fit the time it was written. While the attitudes may be a little dated now, and there'll always be little bits that are weird, this series is by far one of the best BL series I've ever read. Highly recommended!

This story is so sweet and heart-warming. You really get close to the main characters and you always understood the actions they took.
THe whole "I love him but I don't want to admit it" theme is really old and makes the story a bit plain, but otherwise the plot and characters are really great. The art was a bit plain but you look over it because of the great story.

I can highly reccomned this manga. It's a great break from all the rape and smut stuff you often see in yaoi and shonen ai.

This story was so good. It was the classic good boy gone bad as Fujimoto Hiroya dyes and cuts his hair, pierces his ear, and changes his whole outer look all to be close to this boy, Masaki. But when they get back to school, Masaki finds himself changing so he can feel like he is worthy of Hiroya's time. Even with these two boys so in love with each other, there are still people going out to tear them appear!

This is a story that grows surprisingly addictive surprisingly fast, and everything about it is truly awesome. The two main characters are ones readers will fall in love with. Masaki is the seme who acts slightly cold towards Hiroya in the beginning, but quickly grows to loving him to the extreme and constantly trying to win his heart. Hiroya is VERY naive, and he has readers going crazy by continually pushing Masaki away, only wanting to be "friends" and afraid of being a "fag". It's true when it's said that serious issues are addressed in this book. While the ending is a happy one, tears will be falling along the way. The translating seems very nicely done; the story has a nice flow, and the plot rocks with never a dull moment. The characters are amazing, and the relationships between them really bring them to life. Besides Masaki and Hiroya, I LOVE Masaki's brother. He's an awesome, sexy character who's all too easy to fall in love with. And then of course, you have to love the man who's in love with Masaki's brother, despite the fact that he's actually made out to be a bit of an antogonist in the story. I definately have to see what ends up happening in that relationship in Halfmoon Emotion. Anyways, I HIGHLY reccomend this series if you're looking for a story with a lot of depth and an addictive storyline and characters.
