Aishiteru is a cute and affecting yaoi title by one of my favorite new mangakas; Fujitani Youko. The story follows Kazushi, an elite workaholic who falls in love with a company cleaner named Harutomo. Ichise Kazushi and Aiha Harutomo seem an unlikely pair. But for Kazushi, whose life was filled with only work, Harutomo has shown him a new way of looking at life. With each chapter a new season begins and their relationship progresses.
I won't say that Aishiteru is a realistic look at homosexual relationships, but it is certainly more realistic than most. The characters are both men with dreams who are trying to make everything fit together. The artistic style of this manga series is new, hip and cute and I can certainly promise that the love scenes are very raunchy, without being dirty.
I'd really recommend this title to those of you who enjoy a simple, romantic storyline with a pair of normal, yet interesting, characters.
