Izaki was always confident in school who had to work at being the best. It's very much a you get what you put in scenario. He's more than capable of rising to the task whether it's club or tennis. He also enjoys being contrary to others and seeing through their bullshit and bluster which is so refreshing. He doesn't even do it to show off, just because people's shallowness annoy him.

Hakamada is the quiet one. Still waters run deep asiding from the fact he always seems to look vapid. He's the prodigy in so much as things just come easily to him. He doesn't have to work or study and just manages to come out on top which is frustrating for Izaki who realizes he'll never reach that level no matter how hard he tries.

So there's a bit of a rivalry between them but not so much because Izaki knows he's got no chance of catching up. Although, he doesn't realize that Hakamada was never competing with him. And then there's Hakamada's attraction which Izaki can't understand at all. I love the split between the characters perceptions and their actual motivations. It's really well done.
And it's humorous and there's obligatory smex which is actually quite pretty. So you should read~~ if only for the fact that it's small and won't take up much of your time~
(from Wrong Turn at Albuquerque)

Synopsis/Review: Aloof and successful in whatever he does, Hakamada’s personality has always annoyed Izaki. So, when the two meet up at a class reunion after Hakamada’s booming book release, Izaki is anything but pleased. Hakamada, however, decides to take his drinks with Izaki. The two silently drink themselves into oblivion until Izaki gets so drunk he passes out and comes too naked in bed with Hakamada! What happened?! And, why is Hakamada insisting that they’re lovers even though he doesn’t treat Izaki like one?

I love this manga! The plotline seemed totally original to me, so I was absorbed into it from start to finish. Hakamada’s calm and expressionless face left me just as confused as Izaki (in the beginning) and had me laughing in a couple of panels when Izaki is faced with Hakamada’s bluntness or behavior. The sex isn’t all that explicit (which is a pity) but the humor and sweet moments the two go through make up for it.

Cassie821's Review

I found the manga very hilarious. Izaki was so funny, and his snarky comments always made me laugh. His drive and competitive spirit is somthing must people can relate with, and so we understand why he is so frustrated at the fact that Hakamada, seems to always excel at everything he does, while he (Izaki) needs to put in more efforts to succeed. This is something must people can empathize with, as we all know how much it sucks when we work extremely hard, only to see someone who does what we do with way less effort.

Izaki's jealousy is quite amusing, especially when it is realized that Hakamada actually does like him, and it is just his shy nature that is getting in the way. I found it very sweet that Hakamada and Izaki ended up together even though there has been a long case of misunderstanding between the both of them.

Quite a number of scenes are very hilarious, especially the way it Izaki always seems to wake up after having sex with Hakamada or during sex itself, and has no recollection of how he got there. Makes you laugh at how Hakamada had to use stealth to get the man he has been in love with since their school times. Lol.

I really liked this manga. The art is nothing all that special, but the characters are great. They really keep the manga interesting. It also has some pretty funny parts.

This is a funny yaoi, unexpected in some cases. The art is a normal style seen in many different artist, but the outrageous characters makes you want to read, till there is no more. It is a great addition in the collection of mangas this manga-ka has gone through.
