*this review contains some spoilers.

For those who played Togainu no chi, Sweet pool is totally different, its shorter and you cant "choose" a lover for the main character, there's only one lover for him but of course you can make him end up with other guys but this will lead you to horrible endings, Sweet pool is one of the games that has no happy ending, it has only 6 endings and sadly non of them is considered happy, beside it has three rape scenes and some other organ, guru and bloody ones, well I think its normal since we're talking about a game made by Nitro+Chiral ^_^


Plot Summery:

The story goes round a high school student Sakiyama Youji, a quite shy beautiful young man without much presence in class, he finally returns to school after being absent and this is where his life started to change.
Three weird students (Makoto, Tetsuo and Zenya) stared approaching and talking to him all of a sudden, First Makoto, his class mate, who's happy and hungry all the time, Second Tetsuo, a cold student who has a sweet smell and the last one is Zenya who's completely weird and crazy, Youji didn’t find that weird and was continuing his life normally until he started having this weird urge to....."what you do when you go the toilet" but instead of the usual result he gets MEAT MONSTERS! Yes some weird meat moving small things starts coming out of his body! Weird huh?



Main Characters:

Sakiyama Youji

The main character of the game, a high school student who lives by himself in a s mall flat, his parents died in a car accidents when he was a kid, he has a sister who cant leave the hospital since she's pregnant.

Youji is a quite shy guy, he's almost invisible in class, he has no friends to talk to and he suffers from a weak body which makes him sometimes faint in school.


Mita Makoto.

Youji's class mate, he's a happy and a funny boy who loves food, he likes Youji as a friend, but not until that day when he starts finding Youji's smell intoxicating.


Shironuma Tetsuo.

The main seme in the game and the perfect man for Youji, Tetsuo is very quite and cold from the outside but caring and sweet from the inside, he's always there for Youji to help him, save him and love him.


Okinaga Zenya

This guy is the second most important character in the game, he's weird, crazy and dangerous, he covers his right eye with a patch for a good reason....in order to understand Youji's story you have to know Zenya's back story.


System:

A choice system which you have to choose from Instinct (red) and Reason (blue) and depending on your choices you'll get an ending.


Ending:

There are 6 endings in total, but first you have to unlock five of them (VLG, The Hunger, Diving Deep, The Red Road and Miracles May) in order to make the sixth ending available as the best ending (Miracles may violin version) which is fine but still bitter.


Conclusion:

Sweet pool is a sad game with 6 sad endings, a lot of my friends cried while playing the game, it also has a lot of anti fans but for me sweet pool is my favorite BL game, why? Because the story is unique, a bit crazy but interesting, the characters are interesting, the "love" between Tetsuo and Youji is so deep and strong, the music is to die for!!! And the CGs are very hot!

If you're looking for a unique deep drama you have to play it but if you're looking for a happy romantic game with a happily ever after ending, stay away from this game!!! Or it will haunt you forever!!! :p
