Artificial Mermaid is set in the future after a war. Many chemical weapons were used in this war thus causing heavy pollution. The pollution deteriorates peoples healths so they developed a way to prevent unecessary deaths due to this pollution. People have LMC (Life Microship) implanted into their bodies. The only drawback to this is that lots of crimes have surfaced involving LMC use. To handle these crimes, a team was created was the government named LWC (Lifemicrochip Crime Commando). The protagonist of the game (also the character that you play), named Yuri Mimori is the newest addition to the LWC team. He is joined by his childhood friend named Ibiki. Roy, the captain gives a tour of the LWC headquarters where Yuri meets the rest of the team.

it's all worth it

The gameplay is like other games where you choose different options to get the ending that you would like to get.

The game requires quite a space in your hard drive but it's all worth it because the game has a "full voice" system wherein there are dialouges between the characters. The only drawback with this game is the language constraint. If you cannot understand japanese, it is very hard deciding which option to choose. But due to the voices, you can gauge the reactions of the characters depending on their voices.

This game also gives you a variety of endings, some bad while most of the endings are good. There is also a wide variety of characters to pair up with.

The setting of this story is also different from the original Silver Chaos (Silver Chaos 1) game. The story is also very different although the characters are not really that far from their counterparts in the first game. Their looks only kind of changed.

The art is also remarkable which were made by Noboru Takatsuki. There are a total of 84 cgs in this game. So if you're looking for a game with a good plot, nice art and easy playability then Artificial Mermaid is a must have for you.
