If you want the original yaoi this is it. It's hard to get a good quality cpoy because of the age but if yo can watch it you should. Kaze to Ki no Uta was written based on the idea that the viewers had read the manga and knew much of the background story. For those who haven't this is a summary to help understand.

The whole story is Serge's memories of his time at the school he attended as a kid. You see the headmaster announcing Jack dean's expulsion from the school. This is because Dean and Max Blough have engaged in a duel over Gilbert and Blough won. You first see Gilbert after Blough, who is angry because of Gilbert's attitude, stuffs poisonous leaves down Gilbert's throat. Gilbert was raised by his uncle Auguste Beau after his parents abandoned him as a small child. Gilbert believes that he is in love with his uncle. Many of Gilbert's actions are because of Beau's psycholic sadism. But, because of his uncles money everyone at the school turns a blind eye to Gilbert's behaviors.

Well, there you ahve the basic run down of the show. An excellent show espically for it's age. A definent must see for the true yaoi fan.

I have to start with the fact that this was my first yaoi anime. I loved the characters and the music is awsome. I admit that there isn't a lot of background to the story and the manga is lots better but the anime has it's own special charm. It's a great love story and it will also keep you laughing.

If you want a starter anime for yaoi/BL this is the one!
