Prism Spectrum is a light hearted yaoi set in a wealthy all boys boarding school were we follow the character Oomura Yuu (a poor boy in a rich mans world) who we first see as we do in many of the school genres lost and looking for the entrance ceremony.
Whilst frantically looking for this place he wonders upon the sleeping prince (also the name of this first chapter) resting underneath a tree who's name is Takamura Mitsuya who is also known as the student counsel president as well as being the best looking guy in the school.
Anyway this guy sure knows how to greet people since just as Yuu was looking over him and admiring his beauty Mitsuya gets up and kisses him stealing away Yuu ideal first kiss with a girl.

The characters themselves are very different from one another though it seems to follow the usual yaoi formula Yuu (the uke) is not exacly as frail as most since you see in the manga he able to hold himself in a fight but is small, emotional and wants to know as much as he can about Mitsuya.
Mitsuya is an attractive and tall person who is able to put on a good public face but still wants to keep people at a distance finding more pleasure in controlling people rather then befriending them but this changes when he meets Yuu.

The plot did seem to have some potential but it didn't grab write away it seemed slightly atypical.
All in all this is a very good read and would recommend it though the ending is abrupt and I feel it could have gone on a bit longer.
