17-year-old tsundere Kobiki Hisui and his stoic-yet-sweet childhood friend sometimes enemy/classmate/neighbor Hatori Yuujirou had just finished their “intimate business” (they weren’t lovers, though) when they heard a loud cry from below Hisui’s two-story house. It was from a cute baby left by Hisui’s sister, Aoi. Since they were pretty blackmailed (they were caught red-handed mwahaha) by her, both of them became Haruhi, the baby’s unlikely “parents” and raised him within a complicated yet a warm family.
Dekichatta danshi (capable young men), ne?
They were other
BL couple + baby stories out there but I found this one most interesting above all. I found Hisui’s tsundere-ness just fine, just like the known tsundere in the Egoist. Hisui had a harsh past, being abandoned by his family when he was in middle school (for an unknown reason, I must say…) so we really wouldn’t blame him if he niggled… in a painful violent way. I also like the seme, Yuu, in a very special reason. I mean, it was evident that he really liked Hisui but fifteen years had to pass - and an accident had to occur to Hisui - before he could tell the tsundere that he loved him. Hardcore, but it was cute. Aside from this couple’s cuteness, I was also fond of Haruhi, the baby who had grown into another cute character at the end of the series and his mother complex towards Hisui (while Yuu’s dead jealous about it).
The art was so-so for me. It wasn’t as flashy or messy like the others. I prefer to it as a “unique” design. But oh dear, the smut! Yummy and all lip-licking scenes were everywhere in every volume – they wouldn’t even mind doing it in front of the baby.
Character designs, 8 out of 10.
Story, 9.
Smut, 10.
Cuteness, 100.01!
So there’s no reason not to try this very interesting work from Mikage Tsubaki-sensei.
