heya there, i'm deb and i've practiced taekwondo for 6 years, i don't anymore since i went to college far from home, but i love martial arts all the same, give me an anime or movie martial arts related and i'm sure to love it, thinking back about it maybe it started with mulan which is one of the best disney movies but anyway, isn't there anyone else who practices martial arts ?

There are a few on AF who practice martial arts, I just haven't invited them to the group. Maybe I should post the link in the "martial arts?" thread on the main forum.
I've been learning kung fu for 2 years (not that long) and I love it. In our club there's no differentiation among juniors and seniors, that's for the instructors. We also get yelled at regardless of who each one of us are!

Hey! I've practiced TKD too! But I had to stop at some point because of studies, and now that I want to resume, I found out that there is no TKD club near my area, so I had to switch to karate. I miss kicks.... oh how I miss them...

u betcha i'm not doing anything and it sucks 'cause i really miss it, sometimes i think how i miss the sandbag XD

Hi everybody! It's nice that someone started a group like this. I'll warn you, I'm one of the "old folks" on this site. About me: I'm a master rank instructor who owns 2 dojos. I have been in the martial arts for 25 years. I teach aikido, aiki-jitsu, jeet kune do, bushido kempo, ninjitsu, and iaido. Martial arts is one of my true obsessions.

You sure know a lot..! Do you teach all these styles on a weekly basis?

I do. My main dojo is open 7 days a week. I have regular classes each night, and periods of open practice during the day. We do weekend seminars as often as possible - everything from basic self defense to anti-terrorist tactics. I currently have 2 assistant instructors who are 3rd and 4th dan in JKD, Bushido Kempo, and Iaido. I also have a 2nd dan aikido student who is a probationary instructor right now. It keeps me busy..........

Heaven forbid anyone at the dojos ever finds out I'm into Yaoi. That would be sooooooo bad. I have several students who are total homophobes.

Really?! That's just annoying, having narrow-minded students like that...
Lol, I never told any of my kung fu brothers and sisters I'm into yaoi either, our master would definitely make fun of me if he knew (not that he's a homophobe, that's just the way he is)!
Two students on a trip with the club were doing the naughty in the shower, right next to an instructor's hotel room - who could hear everything. After that, everyone knew the story and our master and senior instructors would all make fun of the guy, asking what these noises were exactly!
We have seminars nearly every weekend as well, but in winter there're less students interested. If it gets really cold we get to stay in the sauna for 10 minutes!
