well I posted some techniques that are useful with giving critique on a story. Now a story that is *not* interesting to you, personally, I'm not certain but that is a great question to ask in the write it out group since we are talking about giving thorough story reviews. My thought would be to mention that *I* did not find the story itself interesting. However, blah, blah, was done very well. ^^.

I'm going to do a poll in the writers lounge, with links to the type of reviews that would be involved. I'll perma link the threads I posted here, to give authors an idea of what type of review to expect.

Here... This is the thread I set up in the writers lounge for authors to add / sacrifice their story on the alter of our mercy

If you guys like you can post their how story review should be posted or where; any ideas you have that would make the process easier. I'm going to be working on the first one by "Undoole"... TTFN..

It's strange right now cause I can't read Hayley at all. I've tried but I can't and I'm not sure why. I used to lover her and stalk her like crazy, but right now when I try to read her stories I get that lovelesssoubi feeling, where it's well written but it's bland. Anyone ever had a fall out with an author like that? Cause I'm starting to think either my standards in literature have changed or I'm just being overly critical. I know it's not plot oriented cause I love her plots so is there some reasonable explanation for this?

Hmmm....I think it's just a question of variety since Hayley's stories equal each other in a way of course.
Character behaviour, even when the characters are -totally- different, is sometimes hard for an author to seperate. Hayley's stories generally have a certain feeling to them and I sometimes waited a few chapters before I started reading again. I still think Hayley's stories are some of the best here, but I also need some variety in what I read. I can't read one author all the time. I think it's normal to need a break now and then to really appreciate something

Guten: I was bored and tried your girl melody but can't do it. She is amazing- probably one of the best and I couldn't criticize it if I tried, but it felt like I was reading something written by a robot. It reminded me of when I was in tenth grade and was forced to read Herman Melville. He is hailed as one of the greatest writers of all time, but couldn't do it. He was eloquent but yet so robotic that it was toturous to pour through Moby Dick. It's at those times that I thanked the gods for spark notes.

you guys are harsh. What about Charlaine Harris? You know the Sookie Stackhouse series also known as HBO True Blood. ^^ I love the film but the books are like pulling teeth. My friend says its due to the first person/main characters POV. Well eh if so its not an easy read.

Is it me or is no one voting for SOTM any more? And for you two that do such excellent reviews: should pwp start with pornz or with a loose plot? I know the name should explain it but I find it almost impossible to write without a plot. what happen to me

@Chris- Not harsh, just stating the truth. Damn, it really has been a while since I've posted here. True Blood is untouchable waters. I saw the trailor and just could not believe they would even go there. Clearly, targeted at 15 year olds because the only person to have asked me if I watch the series was a fifteen year old. You should have seen the look I gave her.

@Chris; A PWP is just that, a pwp. It does not need a plot and should not even attempt to form one because often the PWP that have tried to form a plot just fall short. It's like porn with a plot. No one watches porn for the plot!
