How do I "name" a link?

This is such a basic tech question about forums I am almost ashamed to ask, but I have fiddled with the posting system and can't seem to find the way to do it.

How do change an HTML link into a word or sentence in a post or my sig? If I had a homepage at "www.wheverer.com/vargr1105" how would I go about making it look like "Click here for my homepage" ?

Well I did check the general FAQ, but I must be such a hopeless case I could find no link for that list. I didn't even know those bracketed tags were called "BB".

Haha, you'd need to read em properly to find it out. (I didn't know they were called BB codes either until now )

All you need to do is highlight the word (or words) you want the html link to be linked to, then click on the little icon that looks like the earth with a chain link at the bottom:


This box will come up:


Just paste your website link and delete the "http://" from the start of it.

very easy you use url=actual link]name you want to call it /url ...you just need to add the " [ "in front of the first url and put [] on the second ... can change the color of the text too by using [color= and put the name of the ] and use [/color] to end it these go in the same place as what you want to call your link...hope that helps

oh ..and if your curious BB codes are " Bulletin Board " codes...lol..
