    Windows Movie Maker - Song too long?

    The other day I was editing a video, and I wanted to put music in the background. I imported it just fine, until I noticed it was twice as long as it usually is.

    The song is only supposed to be about 5 minutes, but it reads it as 13 instead.

    If I listen to the song, it plays just fine. If I attempt to click around, the program would read the song as it thinks it's supposed to be, not where it actually is.

    I tried cropping the song, and when I played the chopped off part, it plays correctly (for those few seconds), but when I go back to the file, it continues where it think is part of that 13 minutes. (huh?)

    If I let the song play through without any clicking around, it would stop at the 5 minute point. The visual I see of the sound stops where it's supposed to be.

    If I clicked anywhere past the 5 minute point, it'd play the song.

    Personally, I think this is more of the program not reading the song right, and I want to figure out how to deal with this D:

    It's strange, sorry if I confused anyone ^^;;

    i've read your post over and over again trying to understand the situation, and im not sure if i'll be of any real help.. but i was seriously thinking about this and when i look at the visual.. perhaps the 13 min = video min + audio min? and does the final product play just fine though?

    The actual video itself is only about 9 minutes, but when I put the audio in, it extends it to 13 minutes.

    I haven't tried to make that into a movie file though.

    Hi there ^^. Can you tell me how you do exactly to import the audio file?
    You can use other programs like Virtualdubmod though

    I import it by dragging the file into the program window :o

    Virtualdubmod is another video editing program right? I could try that later XD But I'd like to know what went wrong with this audio problem in Windows Movie Maker~

    Also to note, I downloaded the instrumental version of the song and it was the same result o_0
