Kuro No Tsuki English Patch Help

Alrighty, so I'm using Windows Vista and it's already proven to dislike rgss files {if you have any advice for this, it'd be great} but I tried installing Kuro no Tsuki and the patch today. But the error I keep getting is as follows:

A fatal error has occurred while patching Darkness of the Moon.
The error returned was: Unable to Open Source File

Depending on when this error occurred, Kuro no Tsuki may no longer function correctly.

And there was a link, however it no longer seems to be active. I don't know if this is just Vista deciding that it hates me or what, but any advice would be great...

Reight click on the patch icon and then properties. Assign it to run on compatibility - XP mode

I've got Windows XP and I get the same error. I tried solving it by changing the compatibility, but it didn't work. There's only Windows 95, 98, ME, NT and 2000 in the list. I can't find Windows XP mode. Is there something else I can do?

I'm using Vista, and tried using Xp mode to Install, I didn't work, I got the same 'Fatal error' message.

I cna't try another operating system, Vista is all I have avliable to me, bumping this up incase soemone has a solution. I'd be very grateful - thanks!
