Convert the audio to mp3 using VirtualDub or VirtualDub Mod.

hello... I had an error when I tried to open the SP (ogm type)...

[!] Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'XVID' (unknown).
VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to
decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media
Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this
    video.

what should I do? sorry if I make some trouble...^^

EDIT: I ignored it and followed everything my sissy said...and the result is an audio file only help please...maybe I made something wrong...

    You need the XviD codec.
    Download Koepi's.

    No problem!
To work with VirtualDub you need the proper codec, you can't open the video with DirectShow help like video players.

Yes, it is. You can use a program that captures the video in the screen and then use an video editor to add the sound (because u will have the video but no the audio).
"Snag it" is really easy to use and to edit the most easier is Windows Media Player.
But.... the quality is going to decrease a lot.

sissy, your guide is great! I had the avi of SP! yay! thanks! mwaaaah!

btw, I have a question about the subtitle...it was lost...is there any way to get it back? and have it as a part of the movie itself? I am only opening the subtitles I saved, so is there any to combine it with the movie?

    sorry for the trouble, sissy...

    Sis!
    *Big big hug*
I totally need a hug today... my knee hurts like hell!
    *cof cof*
About your question... well if the subs doesn't show in the video that means they work like an audio in the Stream part.
Normally the files have already integrated the subtitles in the video but in this case they're not you can try the last option I posted (using Snag it).

One friend tell me about this method but I haven't try it:

"When choosing to stream the audio, choose the subs too (if it doesn't say which audio is which, demux both and check the files to see which is japanese).

    Convert the audio into mp3.

Open up the original ogm in vdubmod again. Go to stream list again. Disable all of the streams in it. Add the audio stream you made with WinLame.

Go to video: filters (full processing mode has to be enabled for this). Load textsub. Load the subtitle file you demuxed from the ogg earlier into textsub. Mess around with it a bit if it's needed, I don't really have that much experience with TextSub.

Go to compression, pick the codec you want to use and configure it. Then start encoding. Wait god knows how long and voilah, you should have a working avi file with japanese audio and subtitles."

I repeat. I haven't try it so I can only reccomend the Snag it option :o
    *hugs hugs*
    Good luck, sis!

Stupid question/comment time. I just finished DL-ing Mirage of Blaze and guess what....it's an ogg file. I really don't have the skills (or patience) to go through the entire process for 13 episodes.

Why are these files saved this way if it is such a huge process to change them so they can be viewed by the regular, non-computer savy person? I'm sorry if I'm ranting here, but this completely pisses me off! I spent someting like 20 hours DL-ing an anime that I can't even watch! If there is another site/place I could get this anime from in a format I can actually view, I would be greatful for the information.

I'll keep it on my hard drive for a few days and try to follow the conversion instructions but I doubt I'll have the time (or inclination) to screw around with trying to make it work. It seriously cheeses me off since I was looking forward to watching it. I know I probably sound like a whiny brat since it is a free DL, but what good is a free DL if you can't use/view what you DL-ed?

*Found a topic that recommends the use of the VLC media player for ogg files without doing the convert thing. Much thanks to Kriska22 for posting the link. It works!!!!! You are a god-send. Thanks*
