Shift key problem in Lamento?

I just upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 and suddenly Lamento's shift key to skip text function is not working anymore? I mean I can skip from the menu but it stops every single time there's an animation so it ends up being very time consuming to skip through. Is there a solution for this?

By animation, you mean the face animations for each character? Or certain heavy-animated scenes?
