my aspect ratio(?) is messing up my game graphics?

This game isnt a BL game!?! its not but it is a visual novel and i think that the program itself is being messed up by something my computer is doing so if this was DMMD, TNC, SP or L -BTV- it would probably do the same thing but I'm not downloading those to check. *Clears throat*

Anyways back to the main problem. this laptop I'm using is messing up the graphics of my game Steins;gate and i believe its something that my screen is doing to its sizing.

ill edit this with an example of what i mean and ill also include a picture of what it should look like.

Hmm, it does look off... Looks a lot like screen tearing on a video, but I can also sense the squishyness if the resolution is wrong.

What resolution is your Laptop running in? Have you tried playing in full screen? Also, which graphics card manufacturer do you have (if you know? ATI, nVidia?)

my screen resolution is 1366 x 768.

Update: ok so fullscreen is perfect, there is a bit of fuzziness in unimportant areas but its trivial at best. in fullscreen mode the screenshots came out as blank(all black) so i cant get a shot but the fuzziness is near the we at the far right of this picture someone else posted on vndb 67864.jpg

The game runs at a funny resolution of 1024x540. If you run the game in windowed mode, and your resolution maxes at 1366x768, then there's 228 pixels left of space. The windows Aero border, title bar, and the windows task bar easily can take up the remaining space, so the game is most likely trying to keep the window size in your viewable area, without losing aspect ratio...

TLDR: The game is squishing the windowed mode window to fit your smaller screen size. Full screen should be good to play most visual novels. And some of the font blurriness is apparently caused by the custom font used for Steins;Gate, so some of that is unavoidable. o.o;;

that makes sense. It's kinda odd though because I have toolbar on the left side of my screen and set as hidden until I put my mouse over there but I think my system thinks it's still there maybe. I'll test that later to see if that affects it at all.
