Problem with playing some of my anime

It's happened quite a lot now and I'm not sure if it's the file, codec or my computer's problem but at times when I play MKV files, the sound of the anime is pretty much static and the visual is lagging heavily.
I use Windows Media Player and this only happens to some files, most of my MKV files work perfectly fine, so it's not a codec problem...I think.

For example, Durarara!! ep11 subbed by Ecliptic & BSS does that odd static sound and lagging visual thing. However, same episode and anime, the version subbed by Enigma Collective works fine.

This is my first time with this problem and I have no idea what's going on and it's kind of annoying to download 3 versions of the same episode just to find out which one works.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

Thanks! I'll download it and give that a try.

Is there a way that I can fix this problem without changing my player though?

Perhaps it's just Windows Media Player because it works on VLC Player!
    Thank you very much~

what codec pack are you using.. K-lite or something?
If it is K-lite get rid of it and get CCCP, that way you do not have to switch media players (K-lite works with quite some files but not all codecs).
CCCP - Combined Community Codec Pack

Set WMP's subtitle function on and in Haali set priority language and subtitles to jap and en. Better info seen here: http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f49/t1...s-and-mkv.html
