Kannagi no Tori Appcrash

Hi all. I have downloaded (from links on this site) what seems to be a good 3cd iso version of Kannagi no Tori. According to the installer dialog box the installation goes ok.
However each time I run kannagi.exe, as soon as the game window opens a Windows message appears: "Kannagi.exe has stopped working". This happens whether or not I patch it with the tori140.exe patch.
I am running Windows Vista. I have Japanese language support installed. I have tried running kannagi.exe with compatability settings for XP/NT/2000/98 and running as administrator in each of these. I have uninstalled, installed and rebooted.

I have found a solution for this. I ran kannagi.exe in ollydbg (the reverse engineering tool) to find out exactly where in the program the error was happening. No error was shown but the game seems to play perfectly if running through ollydbg.
Ollydbg is free to download so if you're having a similar problem I'd recommend giving this a go.
