Main system.exe error

Maybe I'm just not fixing it correctly, but I keep getting a "main system.exe has stopped working" error every time I start playing Silver Chaos.

- I've changed my non-unicode language to japanese.
- I've searched the threads and have tried downloading Indeo Video Codec and it still doesn't work.
- Also downloaded V 1.2 patch, nothing changed.
-Tried re-installing it and downloading it from a different user as well.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? :/
Just to clarify, I'm able to install the game perfectly but when I start the game I run into that error. :<

If you have Vista switch the .exe to Win XP compatibility mode.

I have the same problem mainsystem.exe error. i did everything from setting the non unicode characters to installing the patch and i still can't get it to work. iam using xp. tried installing many times still i get that error.

i have already installed fanbox version which is running absolutely fine but silver chaos 1 is not working. how is it possible that fanbox is working and version 1 is not working. am i doing something wrong?
