Q&A: Nekota Yonezou and BL cosplayers

I am getting a rare opportunity to be able to do interviews with BL mangaka: Nekota Yonezou
and some BL cosplayers such as:
Baozi and Hana (China) ,
Reach and Asuka (South Korea),
くりゅ Kuryu and 奈琴 Nakoto (Japan),
DD Tenka (Singapore).
Pinky Lu Xun (Indonesia) will be there as well, she doesn't really cosplay BL but she's a huge BL fan and I am gonna interview her as a fujoshi.

Interview will be conducted during this event: Anime Culture ANICULT Surabaya, Indonesia
This will be your chance to get your questions to them personally!
Suggest on what questions you will ask or would like to know about them.


WHAT TO DO:
- Post questions to them in this thread. You can post the questions to any individual (just one individual is fine too).
- Remember to write the question to who it's directed to.
- You can post as many questions as you like.
- After you've posted and if you want to add more questions later, you must edit your first post. So one submission post only per person. Feel free to edit till the due date.

How it will be chosen:
Me and two other team members who are attending the event will pick the questions.

Tip: I am looking for more special questions. Not much like the usual "What are the challenges you face during...?" kind of interview question.

The interview results will most likely be published in the next AarinSecret magazine or some form of article online.
If there is time or opportunity (no guarantee though), I will mention your forum username with the question during the interview as well!~

1. Maya, in the earlier volumes, has blond hair. But when he dyed his hair black, he looked cooler than before. What made you decide to change his hair style?
2. Will there be doujinshis for Juuta's and Akira's stories in the future?
3. Among your popular works, do you have a personal favorite?
4. Do you have any favorite anime or manga that is not BL-themed?

Do other cosplayers ever give them a hard time for cosplaying BL characters? For example, have they experienced any homophobia during their cosplaying?
Do people automatically assume that they're gay because they're portraying BL characters?

For the female BL cosplayers:

Did she ever think that her manga would be so popular outside of Japan?

1. It is really rare for guys to cosplay, not to mention on BL cosplay. So when both of you are doing a BL cosplay, is there a line that both of you won't cross? Like the position of the hands, body etc in certain part when doing a photo shoot?

For DD-Tenka:
1. Of all the cosplayer that you have worked with, who do you feel most comfortable with or quite have a rapport with?
2. Do you have a favourite character that you really like to cosplay in all the time?

1. Have you ever considered doing a BL cosplay someday in the future?
2. If you were to become a guy, which character do you want to be? Whether it is from anime/manga or yaoi.

Is cosplaying just for the fun of it ( which's already good enough )? Or is there any message you wish to send to both yours and the characters/series fans?

Is there a secret to a successful cosplay/cosplayer besides working hard? Like some special facial traits, for example?

Could you tell us a bit about your creative process, please? When you start to create a new series, what's exactly what triggers the idea? Do you start with a situation/plot you fantasize with? or do you start with the type of characters you would like to see interacting together, for instance: glasses pervert uke + yandere seme, etc?


All Cosplayers:

The way I see it, cosplaying is nowadays a widely acceptable hobbie, it's not anymore a reprobable otaku thing that only "weird" people like to do. In this context, I think that it's a practice that is somehow a reflection of contemporary society, one that likes to emulate fiction opposed to "reality creates fiction". Now, I see clearly a fascination with "reality emulating fiction". What are your thoughts on this? Do you see yourselves as people fascinated with emulating fiction? (I mean... have you ever thought about it? XD)

1. Are there other cosplayers in the world that you look up to? Or anyone who inspired you to do what you do?
2. If there was one thing you could change about your appearance, what would you choose to change, if anything at all?
3. How full is your closet? XD Do you actually keep most of your cosplay items, since they may be reusable for other characters?
4. ...... can you cosplay Dino and Hibari, MMK THANKS!!! <-- most important question, in my humble opinion.

1. Which is harder for you when portraying a scene/scenes in your work; romantic/sentimental moments or hardcore moments? As in do you feel a bit shy when it comes to more hardcore scenes or it takes you time and energy to figure out the best way to portray the soft emotional moment between your characters.

2.When drawing your characters, where do you start usually? (for ex. face or body or ...)

3. Are you a night or a morning person? (specially when working)

4. Are you a Caffeine addict/whatever else , during working or you don't have a must-have ? lol
