Live movie download section: yaoi or not yaoi??

I would appreciate if people can categorize the movie/serie if it's yaoi or just shonen ai hint/lots of bishi.

I do not think you can categorize the live action into yaoi or shonen ai those two are terms used for animation, I would find it rather confusing, but I think what you are meaning is adding age ratings right??

So people could tell if it was something of a graphic nature or just a little kissing between two men?? If so, I see nothing wrong with doing that, it is information that some people may found helpful, if people add a little note to the first post, about what the age rating is, or add it in brackets to the title of the tread, would that help??

Just giving a few suggestions ^_^

Thank you for clarifying what the OP was asking. Her question has confused me. [I do not understand the real difference between yaoi and shounen ai. BL is BL.]

Age restriction ratings vary from one country to another around the world. Aarin is based in the US, therefore the age ratings should be American, but most BL movies are unlicensed.

In many countries BL movies with little or no sexual nature are still rated R18 because it deals with homosexuality, example: 愛の言霊 [ainokotodama] is R18 in Japan.

Not all movies with sex scenes are the romantic kind too. There is a BL movie that has only one sex scene but it's not between two main characters. It's a violent rape between one main character and a rapist stranger. It's rightfully R18 but it could be misleading for those who look for the romantic kind.

Unless Aarin is willing to develop its own age restriction or sexual nature rating board, there's no easy solution.

Your very right, and the thought did cross my mind before! But then I remembered that the fiction section has its own style of rating system! That could just be applied but for movies, rather then fics! As it is a rating system that most members on the board understand, as they see it daily! I do not know if it US rating system or not! But it seems to work!

Lots of places make things 18+ just for containing homosexuality! Some people just have problems dealing with topics of such a nature, the same could be applied to me / or anyone, but for different things/topics! Nothing much can be done there! (Though an "aarins own system" like you said may work!)

I know what you mean with different sex scence between males / females and what not, that it can result in misleading thoughts on the BL context of it! But I guess, the easist thing to do, is for the makers of the tread to put a warning in it!


But your right there is no easy solution! But I really do not think splitting the Live-action is the way to go!

The difference is, yaoi is more graphic which clearly shows a BL relationship, and shounen ai is just "suggestions" or a little peck/kiss here and there! To put it in simple terms!

Maybe it's just me but I can remember that most of the thread startes often put
how 'bl' the movie was and if the post doesn't make it clear then there's always IMDB
there aren't a lot of movies posted so I don't see the problem : (
