Closing/Moving Threads

Why not grant people the option to close/move their own threads?

I have discovered the joys of making contests but it irritates me slightly that I have to wait for a moderator to close the thread for me when really that is something I could easily do myself if the option were available. Surely the mods have something better to do than closing contests.

I never wanted this option more than when I wanted to hold a second contest in the same day. xD

Also, there are many people (newbies usually) who post in the wrong place and quickly realise the mistake they've made and want to correct it themselves but can't.

Everyone: "But then what will the mods do all day?"
