How to restrict VMs to friends only?

Okay, so these are the configurations of my VMs:

In Profile Privacy:
Visitor Messages: your friends

In General settings:
Visitor Messaging on
Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators

The problem is that my friends can VM me using the advanced page but they keep seeing my VMs as closed. I would like to keep my VMs to my friends only.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

on your settings page goto friends and contacts to look at your friends list.

In Profile Privacy:
Visitor Messages: your friends <---you need the friend box checked for them to see your profile on your list

Visitor Messaging on
Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators <----you need their contact box checked for them to vm you (it is the one next to the avatar)

your "friends" can be a contact but not a friend, or a friend and not a contact...

I think this problem is not related to the Friend/Contact boxes. Well, I'm actually not sure how does that work, because you can add contacts all the time but they will never receive a request. On the other hand when you send a friendship request they are automatically added as contacts and receive a request.

So there're basically two categories:

Contacts
Friends (are automatically contacts too)

General Settings >
Visitor Messaging >
Visitor Messages Limit > Don't limit usage of Visitor Messages

but to mantain the privacy to friend's only, leave the privacy settings as you already have it.
In Profile Privacy:
Visitor Messages: your friends

It was limited, but now I changed that.

Ok, then just don't forget to leave provicy limited to Friends only ^^
This way only your Friends will be able to see your VM's.
