Thank you for registering and becoming a member of the Aarinfantasy.com forum community.

To help you get started we've compiled some tutorial guides that might be helpful and answer some of the common problems when browsing and using this forum.

It is structured from forum basics to some advanced features, which you might not see in other forums. Some guides have visual aids to make it clearer for you. You can read from the beginning or skip to a section you are interested in.

We hope this guide will be helpful for you and if you have any questions or problems, feel free to message to one of the forum moderator team or an active forum member and we'll be happy to help.

What You Need to Know and Do First


Rules and Important Notices

Before you go and start posting in this forum there are important rules you have to read and follow to avoid a warning, infraction, or a possible ban.

In every section you'll see at the top or bottom, depending which section you're in, an announcement rules thread:



This applies to all areas of the forum. So know what is and what's not allowed in the forum and if in doubt contact an admin (more info below how to do that).

The 'Sticky Threads' are placed at the top page in each forum section. They are important rules and guidelines for a specific forum section, which must be read, if the title thread instructs you, to avoid confusion and moderator action.



Users who fail to read the rules and guidelines will usually receive a warning and infraction in their profile:



These are permanent in your profile and is only visible to you and moderators. It cannot be deleted so moderators can keep a record of you for future reference.

Infraction Points will expire on the date given by the moderator. If, however, you accumulated a certain number of points before the expired date, you will receive an automatic ban for an indefinite time.

Manual ban is carried out, after a moderator discussion, for those who have broken a large number of rules at one instance and have severely disrupted the community.

Contacting an admin or moderator can be simply done by pressing the PM button and you can type your message, or you can visit their profile and type your message there.



For thread/post specific problems, please use the report post function and type your problem as accurately as you so we can assist you quickly.

Posting and Advanced Options

There are two post editors users can access by default: Basic or Advanced.

Basic Editor

The basic editor is displayed at the bottom of each thread page. You're given the basic function buttons.

You can either scroll down and type your message in the basic editor, or click the Quick Reply to this Message button and you'll be moved to the basic editor with the quote option highlighted ready to be enabled:




Advanced Editor

From the figure above, you'll see a button Go Advanced, which will move you to the advanced editor page. Additional, the following buttons will also move you to advanced editor:

Advanced Editor Options



The difference in the advanced editor when you click on 'New Reply' or 'Post Reply' is in 'New Reply' you have the option of adding Tags.



Tags allow a user to find your thread easily when they use the main forum search section.

Another option is adding a Poll by scrolling down to Additional Options and tick the add poll option.



The poll configuration dialogue will show after you submit your thread and then follow the instructions and options.


Attaching files option will always be shown in Advanced Editor, and allows you to upload files to Aarinfantasy's server.



After you successfully uploaded your picture, you can either submit your finished thread or post and let the forum display mini thumbnails and the bottom of your message, or attach the images at certain places of your message by using the [ATTACH] code or button:



You can view and edit all your attachments from your posts by going to User CP and scroll down to Attachments.



Tips and Links

• You can use shortcut keys like in Microsoft Word and common text editors to format text. For example, Ctrl B will format bold text.
• You can find more information on text format and advanced editing functions here: BBCode.
• You can edit your title easily by just double clicking the title thread when viewing the thread list, instead of going in Advanced Editor.
  
• No-parse will prevent the forum from enabling the codes you write, so if you copy and paste a link in your message and un-tick Automatically parse links in text users will have to copy and paste the link to their URL instead of clicking on it. Allso [ noparse ] strips off any code, please click for an example.
