Limiting VMs to mods+contacts

By limiting VM's to mods+contacts only, it removes the VM page completely from my profile, even if it's a friend visiting the profile.

I experience this problem when I visit http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/members/bowe/ and she and I are friends and have always maintained VM contact... I know her VM's are limited to mods+contacts. I CAN send her a VM by using our conversation link directly, but the "View conversation" button is not on her profile and her VM page is not viewable by me... is this proper? It makes it really difficult for me to VM a friend without them VM'ing me first... cuz I can't even access the "conversation" page without just typing in the URL manually.

I thought that the VM page should still be viewable/accessible by mods+contacts if it's limited to that group. :shy: If the current behavior is correct, then please close this ticket. Thank you!

Indeed this is how that setting works. The proper way to restrict VMs to contacts only is:

Under General Settings > Visitor Messages Limit:

Limit usage of Visitor Messages to Contacts and Moderators
Don't limit usage of Visitor Messages ✔

And under Profile Privacy > Visitor Mesages > Select from the dropdown menu: Your Contacts

I have problem with VM. Some AF members cannot enter my VM but they enter my PM.
I don't know if it is a bug?

I have check this: "Don't limit usage of Visitor Messages" and save it.
but some AF members still can't enter my VM

can you or any MOD can check if it is bug in my VM?

in your settings > Profile Privacy > Visitor Messages, what do you have there?

It should be: Registered Members

Could you check and tell me what do you have in that field?
