When I tried to search in the forum,
it says "connection to localhost:9312 failed (errno=111, msg=Connection refused)",
I don't know if it is only me or some bug

You're not the only one :/

I also get this error as well. I'll pm Dai about this.

Fixed. I did a server reboot earlier and it seems like the search process did not start back up (uses sphinx search instead of default vbulletin's search function).

When I click on an username and try to find their latest post, the forum gives me this msg:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

AlexiaLee
05-09-2013, 06:39 PM
And I've just tried to find my own latest post using the advanced ssearch function but it gives me the same message:

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

I must report that the search function is not working properly. In the J,K,L doujinshi section I typed the word "working" and it should have given me as a result one of my threads under [Kuroko no Basket] prefix but it didn't do it properly and just gave me these 3 results:

[Lamento] Lamento: Aza ga Genki [RAW] (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f109/t45245-lamento-aza-ga-genki.html?highlight=working)

Eng / Jpn: Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki: Encore (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f109/t44705-kusatta-kyoushi-no-houteishiki.html?highlight=working)

[Lamento] Lamento: Zetsubou Atama Zetsubou [RAW] (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f109/t41235-lamento-zetsubou-atama-zetsubou.html?highlight=working)

Noted. I have to rebuild the search again and we'll see if that fixes it. I thought I did it when I updated it, but I guess not.

I've rotated the indexer and restarted it. It should work properly now, please tell me otherwise. Thanks.

I've just cheked it and yup, it works fine now. Thx.
Also, could you take a look at this issue (http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/projects/issue-609.html)?

It's still not working though when looking for a member's latest post. It still gives the message "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

AlexiaLee

Same here, I tested it yesterday and it was working perfectly fine though.

It seems that there is a problem with searching anything in this community as well. It only returns a message of "received zero-sized searchd response" when I search anything in Quick search or Advanced search.

Nachi

I didn't know it was directly connected, but year search is not working and gives "received zero-sized searchd response" response only.
And it can't find any topics or post. In my case posts are found but only 33 of them back from 2007.

I'm having the same trouble as Twinstar. In fact, I haven't been able to perform any searches that include usernames in the keywords.

kinsugi

For about two days, I also haven't been able to perform any thread searches for posts by username. Get the "Sorry - no matches" result.

Tried searching for name as keyword, also got no matches.

EDIT: May have been mentioned, but searching PRIVATE MESSAGES for username is also broken... same "no matches" message

crisislover

I get the same thing "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." no matter whose username I try.

laketica

I've only tried searching for latest posts by a user and latest started threads, by using the links in the profile... but same error message as people reported above.

I think this should be fixed now, please confirm.

I'm having this same problem about searching stuff and it's fine now. Thank you ^^<3

Hi Dai, guess what?

It's actually not working properly again ^^;; when I search my latest post the forum only shows up until yesterday but not the most recent ones (within 24 hours). It happens the same when I try to look for the post of someone else.

TheDusty
05-15-2013, 09:29 AM
I double-checked what AlexiaLee said, and it's more or less happening to me too. If it helps at all, the most recent post that my latest post search returns is from yesterday at 12.47pm (it's 5/15 10.28am my time now). I've made several posts since then.

When I checked the latest post search for another member, her most recent post was listed as being 5/13 ~8am (my local time) but I'm positive she's made at least 2 thread posts since then.

Tried searching my topics and another users recent post.

After super long loading I get "Database error".

Thank you very much for your hard work to fix the problems. But unfortunately, I have a search problem again. ( I was able to search by using Quick Search and Advanced Search for just a few hours). This time, when I search mangas and novels using Quick Search and Advanced Search, the Database error page appears. Even if I click refresh button, it can't be fixed.

Hi Dai

I have tried searching the site via Safari, FF, Chrome and even IE and sadly I get a database error.

Dai-kun
05-16-2013, 10:24 AM
Hey guys sorry the reoccurring search problems. I'm not exactly sure why it keeps breaking. I might have an idea, which I am in the process of waiting for it to complete. It should work in a few minutes and I'll keep my eye on it.

TheDusty
05-16-2013, 11:35 AM
Thx, Dai! Checked the search functions (basic/advanced, usernames and without), and it's working!

I also noticed the automatic refresh in the threads returned... were the two connected?

Dai-kun
05-16-2013, 12:07 PM
Cool.

For the thread refreshing, I just got time to look over something in the code that I wanted to fix before re-enable it.

AlexiaLee
05-16-2013, 09:00 PM
I'm still unable to see my latest posts. The results only show up until 12 hours ago :/

EDIT: and we're again on the database error stage XD

Sigh I'm getting tired of this problem. Makes me mad when I don't know how to fix it. I'm gonna try reinstalling it from scratch again in a little bit. In the mean time, I've restarted the service.

Morning Dai-sama sadly the new search error message is
no enabled local indexes to search :shy:

When I went to check "My Posts", I got a slightly different error message than Keita4ever:
"all remote agents unreachable and no available local indexes found"

Thought I'd add this in case it mattered. Feel free to ignore me if it doesn't.

Dai-kun
05-19-2013, 01:26 PM
Yeah. I'm trying to debug it. Seems like there's an error in a line of code somewhere. I'm trying to find it but it's a lot of stuff to go over, so bear with me until it's fixed. Thanks

I took a screenshot (http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/5319/errorx91.png) of it too. I've been unsuccessfully able to search somewhere between 9:30PM EST ~ 11:18PM EST. I didn't have any problems with it today when I was last online.

It worked earlier today. Now I'm getting a long loading time and then database error, at both advanced search and quick search. Yesterday I had the same issues. There seems to be something wrong that makes the search engine crash quite often.

can't search
"vBulletin Message no enabled local indexes to search"-with quick search

"vBulletin Message

I'm not getting any database errors or anything like that....but when I click on "My Threads" today, the only thing I'm seeing are seven really ancient, old threads of mine from the Forum Functions (closed)/Requests/Downloads & Other Questions sections from June of 2011 and earlier.

Nothing is showing for any of my 20 auction threads, or any of my contests. I have other ways of finding the threads I need right now so it doesn't really matter much to me, but I thought I'd mention it anyway since it's not working properly.

i've reverted back to the default search for now. I'm currently rebuilding the search database for it so it's slowly being updated.

i'll fix the new search system later on after i upgrade the forum.
