I am glad aarin-ites are talking good points above about lots of emails if you have an active group. Just like, for some of my authors  I subscribe but discontinued my email notice mostly due to the "spam" on the threads. I can always see the new comments on my CP w/o going to the actual thread. As it is now I can only see my groups comments if I visit. With the option available, the same as in a 'Fiction' I can choose which groups I would allow email and which not.
